The German price comparison portal Idealo has expanded its lawsuit against Google, seeking 3.3 billion euros in damages. The company alleges that Google abuses its dominant market position by favoring its own "Google Shopping" service over competitors, harming competition and consumers. Idealo originally filed the case in 2019, initially seeking 500 million euros, which was on hold during the European Union's proceedings against Google. Following the EU's ruling that Google abused its dominant position, Idealo has now increased its claim, citing the European Court of Justice's decision.
