David Chick, 58, pleaded not guilty to causing £150,000 in damage to an Eric Gill statue outside BBC headquarters in London on May 20, 2023, using a hammer and chisel. He was found with the tools and fireworks. The statue, depicting Prospero and Ariel, has been the target of protestors due to Gill's history of sexual abuse of his daughters. Chick was previously charged with damaging the same statue in 2022. He was released on bail with conditions.
