ICE has reactivated the controversial 287(g) Task Force program in at least seven states (including Florida, Texas, Idaho, Kansas, Nevada, and Oklahoma) after it was suspended over a decade ago due to accusations of discrimination and illegal detentions. This program allows state and local law enforcement agencies to collaborate with ICE to enforce immigration laws through individual agreements, granting them the authority to interrogate, arrest, and transfer individuals to ICE custody, even during routine operations.
