New Minister for Higher Education briefed on review as well as Leaving Cert grade inflation reform and apprenticeships backlog
A review is underway to align financial supports for Ukrainian third-level students in Ireland with those available to Irish nationals. The Temporary Tuition Fee Support Scheme and other temporary support schemes are being examined. Supports for Ukrainians in 2025 require determination. New Ukrainian entrants received reduced stipends and bursaries in September, while existing students continue to receive higher rates. The Leaving Certificate grade adjustment process will begin in 2025.
