The cuts are part of a broader effort, also involving Elon Musk, to shrink the federal bureaucracy and streamline HHS, which oversees agencies like the CDC, NIH, CMS, and FDA. Critics argue the cuts will negatively impact public health, while the administration claims it won't affect critical functions.
