Rivian spun out a micromobility startup called Also, funded with $105 million from Eclipse Ventures. The startup, led by Rivian's VP of future programs Chris Yu, will leverage Rivian's technology and retail presence to produce affordable, bike-like electric vehicles for consumer and commercial use, starting in the US and Europe next year. Rivian holds a minority stake and RJ Scaringe will serve on Also's board.
