Robert F. Kennedy Jr., as HHS Secretary, is cutting 10,000 HHS jobs as part of a "Make America Health Again" (MAHA) overhaul. This restructuring, following 10,000 prior departures, aims to focus HHS on preventing chronic illness through food, water, and environmental toxin reduction. The overhaul will reduce HHS from 82,000 to 62,000 employees, saving taxpayers $1.8 billion. The streamlining includes reducing HHS divisions from 28 to 15, centralizing core functions, reducing regional offices, and transferring ASPR to the CDC.
