The Royal Navy shadowed Russian ships bristling with guns in the English Channel and North Sea during a three-day operation. HMS Somerset tracked the Russian corvette Boikiy, escorting the merchant vessel Baltic Leader from Syria, suspected of removing military equipment from Tartus. British patrol planes and NATO allies assisted in monitoring the Russian task group. This is the second time this year HMS Somerset has tracked Russian ships.
