Rusia cere ca NATO să renunțe la decizia luată în 2008 la București: „Este inacceptabilă”
Russia is demanding that NATO revoke its 2008 decision to eventually include Ukraine as a member. Maria Zakharova of Russia's foreign ministry stated that Ukraine's potential NATO membership is unacceptable, threatening Russia's security and Europe's stability. She emphasized that simply refusing Ukraine's membership is insufficient; the 2008 promise must be withdrawn. At the 2008 Bucharest summit, NATO declared support for Ukraine and Georgia's eventual membership without setting a timeline. Russia maintains Ukraine can join the EU but not a military alliance. This demand comes during US-Russia talks in Saudi Arabia discussing Ukraine and resuming bilateral relations.
