The Buffalo Sabres scored an embarrassing own goal in their 5-2 defeat to the Utah Hockey Club on Thursday night as their woeful season continues.
The Utah Hockey Club defeated the Buffalo Sabres 5-2 after a Sabres own goal late in the third period. Tage Thompson's errant pass into his own empty net put Utah ahead 4-2, followed by another Utah empty-net goal. The Sabres are last in the Eastern Conference, while Utah is on the fringe of a Western Conference Wild Card spot.
