Scots cannibal roasted servant on spit and ate him in Edinburgh stately home

In 1707, during celebrations after the Act of Union, 10-year-old James Douglas, later known as "The Cannibalistic Idiot," escaped his quarters in an Edinburgh stately home, killed a servant in the kitchen, roasted him on a spit, and began eating him. The oven used can still be seen at Queensberry House.
