Police identified the remains of Marcedes Myran, a second victim of a serial killer who preyed on Indigenous women and disposed of their bodies in a Winnipeg landfill. This discovery follows the identification of Morgan Harris' remains at the same landfill. A search operation was launched after initial reluctance due to cost and hazard concerns. Authorities are still searching for the remains of a fourth victim, known as Mashkode Bizhiki’ikwe (Buffalo Woman). The landfill search became a key issue in a provincial election, with the winning party pledging to conduct the search.
