Quebec Vasquez, who came to the U.S. at seven years old, is self-deporting back to Mexico due to fear of Trump-era immigration policies. Her mother brought her from Mexico, and she has no memories of life there. Despite being a Dreamer under DACA, she feels unsafe and chooses to leave rather than risk deportation. She and her family plan to rebuild their life in Mexico, where they have no close ties, by summer. Vasquez sees her American dream ending under current policies.
