Skin care products from multiple brands recalled over possible cancer

The Food and Drug Administration is asking retailers to remove a small number of acne creams from their shelves

The FDA has issued a voluntary recall for a small number of acne creams containing benzoyl peroxide, including products from Walgreens, Proactiv, and La Roche-Posay, due to slightly elevated levels of the potentially carcinogenic chemical benzene. While the FDA considers the cancer risk from these products low, retailers are urged to remove them from shelves. This follows previous recalls of other products like hand sanitizers and sunscreens for similar benzene contamination.
