Despite the Federal Constitutional Court upholding its legality, German business associations are demanding the abolition of the "Solidaritätszuschlag" (Solidarity Surcharge), arguing it disproportionately burdens businesses and hinders a comprehensive corporate tax reform. They urge the next government to include its removal in the coalition agreement.
