Southwestern Ontario measles cases spike, again, with kids most affected

Confirmed cases of measles have spiked over the past two days in one area of Southwestern Ontario amid an outbreak declared last month.

Measles cases have surged in Southwestern Ontario, particularly in children, with 57 confirmed cases since January. The spike is linked to low vaccination rates. Health officials emphasize the importance of vaccination, as measles is highly contagious. Symptoms include rash, fever, and respiratory issues, with risks higher for children, pregnant women, and immunocompromised individuals.
