In the Central Criminal Court, a Louth man pleaded not guilty to raping a Spanish tourist in Dublin city centre on New Year's Day 2019. The tourist testified she felt like a "doll" and was unable to consent due to alcohol or drugs when the alleged rape occurred near Dublin Castle after she became separated from her friend and was seeking a bar. She recalled feeling unstable and confused while walking with the man.
