Stația Spațială Internațională este „prea curată”, iar asta le afectează astronauților sistemul imunitar. Propunerea neobișnuită a oamenilor de știință
The International Space Station (ISS) is overly sterilized, leading to a lack of microbial diversity, which negatively impacts astronauts' immune systems. A study published in *Cell* highlights that the ISS's microbial environment, dominated by human-associated species, is far less diverse than Earth's. This deficiency contributes to astronauts experiencing immune system dysfunction, skin irritations, and inflammatory conditions. Scientists propose introducing controlled microbial diversity to the ISS, similar to the benefits of gardening for immune health on Earth, to mitigate these health issues.
