Nine students, later identified as members of the 'Los Zacapoaxtlas' gang, were reported missing on February 27. Their mutilated remains, with hands severed and placed in a separate bag, were found in the trunk of a vehicle on March 3 near San Jose Miahuatlan, Mexico. Surveillance footage showed the vehicle on February 24 near Atlixco. The incident is linked to cartel activities, particularly related to the drug trade.
