A donor conference in Brussels for Syria resulted in pledges of €5.8 billion in aid, less than the €7.5 billion pledged last year. The US government made no concrete pledges. This was the ninth such conference, and the first since the ousting of Bashar al-Assad. Syrian authorities representatives were present for the first time.
