Boys claim sex with girl, who was 16 at the time, was consensual
In December 2022, a 16-year-old girl alleges she was raped by two boys, then aged 13 and 15, in a car at the Limerick racecourse. The boys, now 15 and 17, claim the sex was consensual. A third boy, then 15 and now 17, is charged with aiding and abetting and falsely imprisoning the girl. The girl, now 18, testified that she did not consent, while the defense claims she agreed to private encounters and may have been impaired by alcohol.
