There's a free winter version of Toronto's Caribbean Carnival in Ontario's cottage country

Toronto Caribbean Carnival may be best known for its summer festival in the city, but it is fast becoming known for another celebration, this one held in the winter months in Ontario's Blue Mountains.Returning for its second year starting Dec. 5, Caribbean Winterfest heats up the cold weather with soca and steelpan performers, live DJs, and the same types of colourful costumes iconic of the Caribana weekend. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of Caribbean eats and browse a festive marketplace. The festival offers two distinct experiences: during the day, it's all about browsing the local market, trying themed foods, and taking part in winter activities like skiing, snow tubing, and exploring Blue Mountain Village; in the evening, it hosts dance parties in the square.    View this post on Instagram           A post shared by Toronto Caribbean Carnival (@torontocarnival.ca)Organiz...
