Tourist who dived into Trevi Fountain while on run from police fined

Holidaymakers from New Zealand caused a splash in Rome on Sunday night



A tourist was fined €500 for jumping into Rome's Trevi Fountain while fleeing police. The 30-year-old man, part of a trio from New Zealand, reportedly acted under the influence of alcohol. The fountain, a historic landmark built in 1762, is a major tourist attraction. The man was banned from visiting the fountain for life.
