The Trump administration, bypassing Egypt and Qatar, is directly negotiating with Hamas for the release of the remaining 63 hostages in Gaza, 24 of whom are believed to be alive. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office confirmed awareness of the talks. The Trump administration previously brokered a deal in January that freed 33 hostages, including three Americans.
