The General Services Administration says the DOJ headquarters building and the FBI building across the street are ‘not core to government operations’ and can therefore be sold off
The Trump administration has proposed selling hundreds of federal properties, including the Department of Justice (DOJ) headquarters and the FBI building, as they are deemed "non-core" to government operations. The General Services Administration (GSA) has listed numerous other significant buildings for potential sale, such as the Department of Labor, Department of Health and Human Services, and federal courthouses across the U.S. The GSA claims the properties are outdated and costly to maintain, and the sale would leverage private investment.
