TTC closure attributed to being 'late clearing work zone' snarls morning commute

It's been a while since we've had a major TTC service disruption to challenge transit-goers' patience as soon as they wake up and head out to work, but rush hour delays this Wednesday morning will likely prove enough to start some customers' days on the wrong foot — especially due to the reason behind them.Starting at 5:30 a.m., the commission warned Toronto residents of substantial impacts to subway service on Line 1 Yonge-University, with trains not yet running between Lawrence West and St. George stations — a seven-station, nearly eight kilometre-long stretch of track.Additional delays all the way up to Finch Station were also noted.The cause for it all?
