UG Corporate Football League: Union Ghana set to play College of Humanities on Friday

The league, which brings together corporate and academic teams, promises 20 weeks of competitive football.



The UG Corporate Football League, set to commence on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the UG Sports Stadium, will feature defending champions Union Ghana taking on College of Humanities. The league, which spans 20 weeks, includes 18 teams from both corporate and academic sectors, grouped into two leagues. The official launch was held on February 18, revealing the tournament structure and fixtures. Opening day will also see matches between University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) and University of Ghana, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation vs. Ghana Football Association, and College of Health Sciences vs. Telecel Ghana. The competition aims to foster ties between academia and the corporate world and was praised by University of Ghana Registrar Mrs. Emelia Agyei-Mensah and Sports Minister Kofi Adams, who commended organizers RITE Sports Services. The league promises to be a highlight of the sporting calendar, with Union Ghana seeking to retain their title against potential upsets.
