UK experts, via the UKHSA, are urging prioritized research into 24 deadly pathogen families, including Coronaviridae, due to potential biosecurity risks. The list includes viruses and bacteria, many not currently present in the UK, where lack of vaccines, treatments, climate change, and growing drug resistance pose a risk. The goal is to address gaps in diagnostics, vaccines, therapeutics, and address evolving threats linked to climate change, rather than predict the next pandemic.
