People are being urged to be careful around the coast of the islands

UK tourists in the Canary Islands are under amber and yellow weather warnings due to strong waves and rough seas. The Canary Islands Government has declared a state of pre-alert for coastal phenomena, including potential flooding. The amber warnings, indicating a 'significant' level of danger, affect La Palma, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura due to waves reaching up to six metres.
