The UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has concluded that Microsoft's partnership with OpenAI does not warrant investigation under the merger provisions of the UK's Enterprise Act 2002. The CMA found that while Microsoft exerts significant influence over OpenAI's commercial policy, it does not currently control it. The CMA noted that these changes reduced competition concerns, leading to the decision not to pursue further investigation.
