France returned 133 pre-Columbian archaeological artifacts to Honduras on March 19, 2025, in a ceremony in Tegucigalpa. The pieces, including obsidian, ceramics, a grinding stone, and stone figures, originated from archaeological sites in the Honduran departments of Valle, Choluteca, and Comayagua and were held by the Musée du quai Branly. Honduras seeks further repatriations, as these artifacts were exported when the country lacked regulations on archaeological exports.
