The U.S. State Department has designated six Mexican drug cartels, the Salvadoran Mara Salvatrucha, and the Venezuelan Tren De Aragua gang as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs). This designation, confirmed by a prior report from Breitbart Texas, was officially announced by Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Public Notice 12672. The cartels, including the Sinaloa Cartel and Carteles Unidos, are linked to mass killings, kidnappings, and other violent crimes. The Trump administration has pressured Mexico to address these groups, which operate with impunity due to corruption and inaction by Mexican authorities.
