An ESRI study warns that US tariffs and protectionist measures could cost the Irish economy over €18 billion in lost trade, reducing GDP by 3.7% over the next five to seven years. The report considered various tariff scenarios, including unilateral and bilateral tariffs, as well as non-tariff barriers, all of which would negatively impact the Irish economy, particularly the traded sector, labor market, consumption, and public finances.
