Victory for the British High Street as iconic department store which suddenly shut its doors after 200 years is set to reopen after major refurbishment by London chain

Jolly's department store in Bath suddenly put up notices announcing that it would be closing in December - to the shock of locals and devastation of its 100 staff.

Jolly's department store in Bath, which closed in February after 200 years of operation under the Frasers Group, will reopen after refurbishment by London-based chain Morleys. The move will retain the Jolly's name and department store model and has re-hired the former general manager and aims to create a shopping experience tailored to the local community and revitalize Milson Street.
