Volkswagen Tayron review: The popular family SUV goes hybrid, but loses two seats

Sitting between the popular Tiguan and the giant Touareg, the plug-in hybrid Tayron offers bags of space and 75 miles of electric range, but misses out on seven seats

The Volkswagen Tayron, a plug-in hybrid SUV positioned between the Tiguan and Touareg, offers ample space and a 75-mile electric range but lacks the seven seats found in other Tayron models due to the battery placement. It provides a comfortable drive, smart design, and good quality, but faces competition from cheaper Asian SUVs that offer more space and features. The PHEV version comes with two options of combined engine power and battery and is 231mm longer than the Tiguan.
