Over 100 calls were made to the UFO reporting center, Cenap, with some mistaking the phenomenon for a meteor or extraterrestrial activity. The Bundeswehr's space command identified the streaks as debris from a SpaceX Falcon-9 rocket, launched on February 1. The rocket's second stage re-entered the Earth's atmosphere, with debris visible over Germany. No damage was reported, and the debris was not linked to any impact on the ground.
