Washington Post refuses to run $115,000 ad titled ‘Fire Elon Musk,’ report says
The Washington Post declined to run a $115,000 front-and-back page ad titled 'Fire Elon Musk,' submitted by Common Cause and the Southern Poverty Law Center Action Fund. The ad questioned Elon Musk's influence over the country, targeting Congress, Pentagon, and White House subscribers. While the inside page ad was allowed, the wrap-around version was rejected. Common Cause speculated the refusal might relate to Jeff Bezos's ties with President Trump. The Post did not provide a reason but noted ads are reviewed for accuracy and permissions. No payment was made as the ad was not published.
