Western Europeans say immigration is high and poorly managed, survey finds

A YouGov survey across seven Western European countries reveals that most residents believe immigration levels over the past decade have been too high and negatively impacted their nations, with governments handling the issue poorly. In Germany, 61% viewed immigration as "much too high," while 54% of Spaniards and 50% of Britons agreed. Immigration ranks as a top concern, particularly in Germany, where it is the leading issue. Notably, Denmark had the lowest agreement at 55%. Additionally, 83% of Germans and 80% of French citizens criticized their governments' immigration policies. This survey follows the success of Germany's anti-immigration AfD party in recent elections, highlighting the political significance of these findings.
