A North Dakota jury found Greenpeace liable for defamation and other claims related to Dakota Access Pipeline protests, awarding Energy Transfer and its subsidiary over $650 million in damages. Greenpeace, which says a large award could bankrupt the organization, was founded to protest nuclear testing and has since grown into a large environmental campaigning organization involved in various global environmental issues.
