ATProto, the protocol behind Bluesky, is making it easier for developers to build new applications on its infrastructure. Upcoming features include OAuth for user account creation and easier sign-in, the ability to publish and share lexicons (data schemas) for diverse applications, and plans for privately shared data with end-to-end encryption. Improvements are also being developed for relays, account migrations, and supporting migrations to Bluesky's servers.
