The state-of-the-art facility is being built after the community smashed their £50,000 fundraising target towards the cost of the work.
Construction has begun on a new £1.2 million boathouse at Kirkcudbright Lifeboat Station, replacing the existing 1892 facility. The project is funded in part by the community exceeding their £50,000 fundraising goal. The new station will feature updated amenities, including separate changing facilities, a warming area, and a workshop. The lifeboat will operate from Kirkcudbright Marina during construction.
