A fire at Heathrow Airport caused a full-day closure, impacting over 1,330 flights and up to 291,000 passengers. British Airways accounted for 51% of the affected flights. Passengers were diverted to airports across the UK, Europe, and even as far as Canada. The event disrupted travel plans for both passengers and Heathrow employees, and is expected to cause further delays for days.
