Experts from Which? have revealed how often you should wash your towels - and say that overdoing it could explain why your towels are crispy and scratchy.
Experts from Which? advise washing towels every three to five uses, depending on household size and usage. Overwashing can cause towels to become crispy and scratchy. Towels used for drying the face should be washed after one or two uses. To maintain softness, avoid fabric softeners, use less detergent, and shake towels vigorouslyly after washing. If towels are already crispy, soak them in vinegar, rinse, and machine wash at 40°C with space for movement in the machine.
