A traffic stop that led to the shooting death of a border patrol agent in January has cracked open a cult-like group known as the ‘Zizians’, linking some of the members to a slew of killings across the country. Andrea Cavallier takes a look at the their alleged violent rampage
A cult-like group known as the Zizians, led by Jack LaSota (aka "Ziz"), has been linked to six deaths across three states. The group, consisting mostly of transgender and non-binary individuals, includes highly educated computer scientists obsessed with veganism, animal rights, and consciousness theories. Members have been connected to violent crimes, including the shooting death of a U.S. border patrol agent in Vermont, the killing of a young rationalist in Pennsylvania, and attacks in California. LaSota and two others were arrested in Maryland after being flagged for suspicious behavior, though they have not been formally charged in connection with the deaths.
