Sudanese military forces are close to liberating the presidential palace in Khartoum from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). Fighting has been ongoing for weeks. Since April 2023, there has been an armed conflict between the military and the RSF in Sudan, displacing approximately 12 million people. The RSF are currently attacking the Sudanese Armed Forces' general staff in Khartoum and besieging El-Fashir. The Sudanese Armed Forces control the north and east of the country.
