Federal prosecutors say two men accused of leading a group suspected of smuggling 20,000 people into the country from Guatemala have been arrested in Los Angeles
Two leaders of a human smuggling group suspected of transporting 20,000 immigrants from Guatemala to the U.S. have been arrested in Los Angeles. The indictment accuses them of running a large-scale operation for over a decade, resulting in the deaths of seven immigrants, including a child, in a 2023 vehicle crash, and holding migrants hostage in a stash house. They have pleaded not guilty to multiple charges.
