£25bn Russian assets frozen by UK since start of Ukraine war, Treasury says

Statistics revealed the new total, which accounts for all assets that have been sanctioned by the UK since February 2022.



Since the start of the Ukraine war in February 2022, the UK has frozen £25 billion in Russian assets, encompassing all assets sanctioned since then, impacting 2,001 individuals and entities. Treasury minister Emma Hardy emphasized the impact of these sanctions, stating the UK and its allies have deprived Russia of over $400 billion. Discussions are ongoing about seizing these assets to fund aid to Ukraine and its reconstruction.
