4 Communities Benefit, As REA Unveils 440kWp Interconnected Mini

The Rural Electrification Agency (REA) has commissioned a 440kWp interconnected mini-grid in Cross River State, benefiting four communities: Etomi, Agbokim, Abia, and Bendeghe. This project, part of the Interconnected Mini-Grid Acceleration Scheme (IMAS), is funded by a €9.3 million grant from the European Union and supported by the German Cooperation. The initiative aims to provide reliable, clean energy, fostering socio-economic development. Governor Prince Otu emphasized the project's transformative potential, while REA's CEO highlighted its role in empowering communities through sustainable energy. Future plans include expanding energy access in Cross River State, with support from the state government and stakeholders.
