After Ruby Franke abuse case, Utah tightens law on influencers

Children ‘cannot give informed consent’ to be put on social media, YouTuber’s ex-husband says

Following the Ruby Franke child abuse case, Utah passed a law to protect child influencers, allowing adults to remove digital content they were featured in as minors. The law also mandates that online creators earning over $150,000 annually from content featuring children set aside 15% of those earnings in a trust for the children. The law comes after Ruby Franke, who posted videos of her family on YouTube, was convicted of child abuse for mistreating her children.
