Alberta pulls funding for mental health service provider in Ponoka County
Alberta has cut funding to the Ponoka Rising Sun Clubhouse, a mental health service provider in Ponoka County that serves 150 members and provides transitional support, including housing, employment, and educational services. The organization, which receives $312,761 annually, may be forced to close. Mental Health and Addiction Minister Dan Williams stated the decision was made by Recovery Alberta, which is prioritizing clinical services, and suggested the organization seek funding elsewhere.
